We fish in the protected waters of the Inlets, Flats, Creeks and Backwater targeting Flounder, Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Gray Trout, Ladyfish, Bluefish and Sheepshead under the bridges and dock pilings. We use both live bait and artificial bait on premium quality light tackle with spinning reels spooled with braid and florocarbon leaders so you can feel the fish! Inshore Inlet Fishing:
Throughout the year the Wrightsville Beach Jetty, Topsail Inlet, Carolina Beach Inlet, Richies Inlet and Masons Inlet produce a variety of fishing opportunities . During the spring and summer the Bait Migration brings the Flounder, Cobia, King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel this way providing a great opportunity to land a limit! Nearshore/ Offshore Fishing:
A Nearshore favorite of many including Captain Trevor is chasing the giant schools of False Albacore feeding on the surface only a mile off the beach! They stay around for most of the year and are fun on light spinning tackle and fly rods! Another Nearshore favorite is trolling and vertical jigging for the schools of Big Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel and Bluefish within sight of the beach… many days will fill a cooler! If you have your sights set on Bottom Fishing… We do that too! We fish the Ledges and Hard Bottom 10 – 15 miles out and catch Seabass, Grouper, Cobia and Triggerfish just to name a few! On our Constant Action Charter you can fish for “everything� Inshore using natural and artificial bait. We commonly catch Flounder, Drum, Bluefish, Spots, Black Sea Bass, Pinfish, Lizard Fish and the occasional Stingrays and the kids favorite….Sharks. Remember, each Kids Charter is Custom Tailored to your expectations, experience level and what type of fish you want to target. If there are young anglers on board we start the fishing charter by teaching the kids how to throw a cast net and find bait! From there we teach them (depending on their age) how to tie a Fishermen’s Knot, proper Rod and Reel execution and Boat Operation. At ProFishNC we really like to get the kids engaged in all aspects of the fishing charter experience and children love this type of hands on fishing as well.
